More prepositions
Claire's desk is next to Martin's desk. There's an envelope in Claire's desk. There are papers on Claire's desk. Her desk is between the copier and the window.

You can use the prepositions in , on , next to , and between to clarify where things are. These prepositions are usually followed by a phrase that can tell about location.

  • in the desk
  • on the desk
  • under the bridge
  • next to Martin
  • between the man and the woman

Between is followed by a plural noun or by two nouns.

>> The notes are in her bag.
>> The bag is on the desk.
>> The pen is under the desk.
>> The car is next to the building.
