Present perfect with 'since' and 'for'

Use since and the present perfect to talk about something that began in the past at a specific time and continues into the present. To form this use of the present perfect, use: present perfect + since + specific time.

Use for and the present perfect to talk about a length of time that began at an unspecific time and continues into the present. To form this use of the present perfect, use: to have + been + verb + -ing + for + minutes/hours/days/years.
