Consonant-consonant linking

When the last consonant sound of a word is the same as the first consonant sound of the next word, we don't make a break between the two consonants.

  • We studied the past tense.

When /t/, /d/, /k/, /g/, come one after the other, we do not really finish the sound of the first consonant.

When the consonant sounds /t/, /d/,/p/ are followed by /dz/, /ch/, we do not really finish the sound of the first consonant.
