Activity: Word Bingo

Objectivo: Practice it and them as direct objects
Level: Intermediate
Materials: Cards

Write a list of nouns that you a learned recently in class. Write one or two nouns in each card (see suggestions below). Then duplicate them. There should be two cards for each set of nouns. Divide them into two piles. One pile is for the students and the other one is for the teacher.

Hand out the cards from one pile to students. Each student should have six cards. Tell them to lay the cards in front of them on their desks. Then take a card from your pile and say "Who has the (cat)?" The student who has the same card should say "I have it" or "I have them," according to the number of words on the card. Make sure students use "it" or "them" correctly. If he/she doesn't, put the card in the bottom of the pile and start again. If he/she does, give it to him/her to put on top of the other card. The first student to have done so with all the cards wins. He/She has to say Bingo!

Note that you can also practice the pronouns him/her with this game. You just have to use names of people or names that refer to people, such as jobs and professions, family members, etc.
