Activity: Truth or Lie? Level: All Levels Materials: Copies of the printout This activity is a fun way to get to know each other a little better. You can use it with new groups or groups of students that already know each other. Write four sentences about yourself on the board. Two of them should be true, the other two should be false. Have students guess which ones are true and which ones are not. Make sure the sentences are not too obvious. Here are some suggestions: I was born in a small town in Ohio. I have a dog. His name is Brutus. I don't like to watch sports. I walk to work every day. After students have guessed, tell them which ones are not true and comment on every sentence. For instance, if "I don't like to watch sports" is false, you can tell students about your favorite sport, team, and so on. Now it's the students' turn. Have them write four sentences about themselves. Again, two should be true and the other two should be false. When everybody has finished, ask students to read their sentences. The other students have to guess which ones are true and which ones are not. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
