Activity: Mixed-up Words Vocabulary: Any vocabulary Level: Beginner Materials: None Prepare a list of words based on the content area or subject matter you wish to present. Divide the class into two teams. Tell the class the category you are thinking of. Put one word from your list on the board, writing the letters in a mixed-up sequence. Each team has to figure out what word it is. The first team that guesses correctly gets 10 points. If nobody can guess the word, give students a clue. A correct answer after the clue is only worth 5 points. Continue to play until a team reaches 100 points. You can make the game more exciting by taking points off for every incorrect guess. Also, you can focus on specific grammatical items by compiling lists of words containing specific verb tenses, types of words, and so on. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
