Activity: How Many Words? Vocabulary: - Vocabulary of the week Level: All levels Materials: None Think of a word that is related to the vocabulary that you have taught that week, preferably a place. Divide the class in small groups and have students write as many words as possible that are related to that word in 3 minutes. For instance, if they have learned vocabulary about shopping, you can say "clothing store." Students could write words like "money, fitting rooms, size, etc." When the groups read their lists, they have to justify the connection. For instance, money (you need it to pay in a store), fitting rooms (it's where you try on the clothes); size (when you buy some clothes, you need to know your size)," etc. The other groups have to say whether the connection is valid or not. The group with the most valid words wins. | |||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
