Pay for an Item or Service
After you've established a price, you'll need to discuss how and where you want to pagar (pay).

¿Aceptan tarjetas de crédito / cheques de viajero?

If only cash is accepted, the vendor will say No, sólo efectivo. (No, cash only). Sometimes you may have to clarify your method of payment. They may ask you: ¿Cómo va a pagar? (How do you want to pay?) Answer back: Con tarjeta de crédito (with a credit card), en efectivo (in cash), or con cheque de viajero (with traveler's checks).
If your card doesn't work, they may say Esta tarjeta no es válida (This card isn't valid) or La máquina no acepta la transacción (The machine isn't accepting the transaction).
If you want your change in a specific way, you can say Quiero... (I want... ) and the type of billete (bill) or moneda (coin) that you want. You can also say:

Quiero sólo billetes, por favor.
I only want bills, please.
>>
Quiero el cambio en monedas, por favor.
I want the change in coins, please.
Need a receipt? Say:

¿Me da un recibo, por favor?
Could you give me a reciept, please?
