Usage: Ask for the bill

Once you've finished your dessert and coffee your waiter will ask:

>> Prende ancora qualcosa?
Would you like anything else?

You can respond:

>> No, basta così grazie.
That's it, thanks.
>> Il conto per favore.
The bill please.

Many restaurants charge a coperto (cover charge) and a service charge. That means that you don't have to leave a mancia (tip) unless you feel the service was exceptional.

If your food was superb, you can compliment the waiter by telling him:

>> Complimenti! Le lasagne della casa erano deliziose!
Compliments! The house lasagne (plural) were delicious!
