Pull it all together: Avoid ordering something you may regret!

You're at a trendy restaurant on via San Mammolo. Although this is not your usual crowd, the horde outside the door suggests that it's a popular eatery. As you wait for the waiter, a gentleman at a neighboring table plunges into what looks like a fantastic beef stew. It smells great! But before pointing at it and ordering, you want to know what's in it. The last thing you need is an allergy-attack.

Click on the Audio Button to listen to the waiter's lines. There's a pause for you to write your lines. Click on the Show Answers button to check your answers.
  Listen!

Cameriere: Desidera?

You: You haven't even looked at the menu! Ask what the house specialty is.   Qual è la specialità della casa?

Cameriere: Lo stufato, una specialtà torinese. Stasera è molto richiesto! (The stew, a Turinese specialty. It's very popular tonight!)

You: The stew! That's what your neighbor is eating. Ask what's in the stew.   Che cosa c'è nello stufato?

Cameriere: Lo stufato è preparato con carne equina e pomodori. (The stew is prepared with equine meat and tomatoes.)

You: Equine meat? That's horse! Say you're a vegetarian.   Sono vegetariano(a).

Cameriere: Va bene. Allora le consiglio i tortelli di zucca. Sono freschissimi. (OK. Then I recommend the pumpkin tortelli. They're very fresh.)

You: Say you'll take the tortelli.   Prendo i tortelli.

Cameriere: Da bere?

You: Say you'd like half a liter of wine.   Vorrei un mezzo litro di vino.

Cameriere: E di secondo cosa prende? (What would you like as a main course?)

You: Say that's it, thank you.   Basta così, grazie.

And you were worried about your silly allergies!
